Odenton resident Joe Dimmick died peacefully at home on October 3, 2020 of natural causes at the age of 78. He had been battling cancer off and on for the last 16 years. Mr. Dimmick was born in Bay City, Michigan to Joseph and Alice Dimmick.
He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1964 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he served aboard the USS Claud Jones and was honorably discharged in April 1965. In 1987, he met his second wife Leocadia Ellis at a church meeting and they married in 1988. She brought three children from a previous marriage into the family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carol Jane Dimmick and his parents Joseph and Alice Dimmick.
Joe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Leocadia and their children J. Scott Dimmick (Lisa) of Jeffersonville, MD; Tracy L. Willis of Crofton, MD; Ralph F. Ellis III (Melissa) of Severna Park, MD; Jessica L. Ellis Shipley (Richard) of Gambrills, MD; and Glenn A. Ellis (Carly) of Philadelphia, PA.
